Independent medical support for VA disability claims.
Lyndsay Health provides independent medical evaluations and documentation for Veterans working through the VA disability claims process. Nikki McWaters, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, focuses on the medical evidence.
Medical evidence and claim guidance have different jobs.
Lyndsay Health focuses on the medical portion of a disability claim. An accredited Veterans Service Organization representative, attorney, or claims agent can help with claim strategy, filing, and the administrative process.
Work with an accredited representative
An accredited representative can help determine what to claim, identify needed evidence, file the claim, and guide you through the VA process.
Bring the medical portion to Lyndsay Health
Nikki reviews the relevant medical and military records, evaluates the condition being claimed, and prepares appropriate medical documentation based on the evidence.
What the service may include
- A comprehensive medical evaluation focused on the condition being claimed
- An applicable public Disability Benefits Questionnaire documenting diagnosis, symptoms, severity, treatment history, and functional impact when clinically appropriate
- A medical nexus letter or opinion when the evidence supports a relationship to military service or an existing service-connected disability
- Review of relevant medical and military records
Why the records matter
The goal is thorough, professional, and objective documentation that accurately reflects the condition and its effect on daily life.
VA accepts private medical records and public DBQs as evidence, but it may still require an additional claim examination.
$250 per condition
The fee includes the medical evaluation, record review, and any applicable DBQ or medical nexus opinion that is clinically appropriate and supported by the evidence.
This is a self-pay service. Lyndsay Health does not bill the VA for it, and VA does not reimburse the cost of a private provider completing a DBQ. An evaluation may conclude that the available evidence does not support a nexus opinion.
